How can government organisations protect themselves from cyber threats beyond the traditional security perimeter?

Public sector organisations have never faced a greater risk to the continuity of public services and the security of citizen data. Although large numbers of public sector workers are still visible on the frontline, many organisations have moved to a remote working model, increasingly utilising online services for citizen interactions.

Whilst the home-working transition is complete and online services are increasing, the threat landscape is evolving and threat actors are looking for new ways to exploit this ‘new normal’ – aiming to disrupt public services and access intellectual property and valuable citizen data.

Whilst many Public Sector organisations are already aware of the threats they face through ‘traditional’ entry points such as email, cyber criminals are evolving their approach, targeting public sector websites and mimicking them to harvest data, or using fake email domains to trick the public into providing sensitive data – but how can government organisations protect themselves from these cyber threats from beyond the traditional security perimeter?

This session will provide insight into the scale of this issue and how it affects Public Sector. Our speakers will provide real-life examples from across government and share best practices for protecting both your email and web domains.
